About Me
Yumi is a multimedia composer, arranger, sound designer. He is a jack of all trades, writing across a multitude of ensembles, including symphonic orchestras, orchestral hybrids, chamber groups, modern rhythm sections, world instruments and vocal groups; and styles such as world, pop, rock, jazz, and classical. Influenced by his experience living in China, Zimbabwe, Uzbekistan, and The United States, his works resemble a fusion of cultures and embrace an extensive use of ostinatos.
Over his two and a half years at Berklee, his arrangements and compositions have been performed at various renowned venues such as the South by Southwest Film Festival (SXSW), Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO), Berklee Performance Center (BPC), Distler Performance Hall (Tufts), and Sosberg Recital Hall (Brandeis), summing up to a total of 51 times on stage.
